When Harli mentioned that people should ask her for restaurant recommendations, Gabe responded by asking about her favorite pizza spot. Her answer? Pino’s in Cleveland Circle.

To Harli’s surprise, Gabe had grown up eating there with his family. Less than a week later, they found themselves back at Pino’s for their very first date.

Their proposal felt equally personal.

While visiting Paris, Gabe surprised Harli with a private boat ride along the Seine. As they floated beneath the lights of the Eiffel Tower with champagne in hand, he completely caught her off guard by proposing. Even in one of the most romantic cities in the world, she never saw it coming.

Their celebration began at The Newbury Hotel Boston, where everyone got ready before heading to the Boston Public Garden for portraits and their first look.

I always love when couples choose the Public Garden for this part of their day. Even if your ceremony or reception takes place somewhere else, it’s one of my favorite gardens in Boston for wedding portraits because it offers such a beautiful variety of backdrops within a short walk. Between the winding paths, historic statues, flower beds, and the famous footbridge overlooking the lagoon, there’s no shortage of gorgeous photo locations.

The park also sits just steps from Beacon Hill and Newbury Street, making it easy to capture a variety of looks without spending hours traveling between locations.

Meaningful Jewish Wedding Traditions

One of my favorite parts of this wedding in Boston Public Garden wasn’t the location at all.

It was watching Harli and Gabe incorporate family traditions that meant so much to them.

Their Jewish ceremony included the breaking of the glass, a beautiful Kiddush cup, and their Ketubah. Even their cake topper carried special meaning, having belonged to one of their grandparents.

These are the kinds of details that become even more valuable over time.

Harli’s mom believed she had chosen a completely different wedding dress.

Instead, Harli secretly purchased the gown her mom had fallen in love with earlier in the shopping process and waited until the wedding day to reveal it.

Watching her mom’s reaction was incredibly emotional.

Those unscripted moments are exactly why I always encourage my couples to leave room in their timeline for genuine connection instead of rushing from one event to the next. Some of the most meaningful photographs happen when nobody is thinking about the camera.
