This is truly one of my favorite engagement sessions to date. Not because of a fancy location or over-the-top details, but because of Cassie and Britney and their powerful connection to each other.
About the Couple
Cassie and Britney are simply a perfect match. After meeting seven years ago at Southern New Hampshire University, they fell in love, bought a house and created a cozy home together with their two cats, lots of plants and a huge garden in their backyard that I am insanely jealous of (veggies for days!)
They love hiking and the outdoors and spend time cooking vegan meals together. Seriously, following them on Instagram makes me want to step up my dinner game! Most importantly, they are super in love with each other and planning a greenhouse wedding in the mountains.
A New Hampshire Wedding at Barn on the Pemi
You know when you meet people and you just click? That’s what happened when I met these two back in January at a Starbucks in Londonderry, New Hampshire. I was so excited to meet them in person since we immediately connected about our mutual love for cats and plants over email!
They told me all about their plans for a wedding at Barn on the Pemi. I was ecstatic to hear that this was their venue because Plymouth holds a very special place in my heart. I lived there for four years during college at Plymouth State University and know the area well! We really hit it off during our consultation and they booked shortly after. I couldn’t wait to work with them!
Engagement Photos at Wagon Hill Farm
For their engagement photos, we met on a sticky summer night at Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, New Hampshire. It was almost 90 degrees and quite buggy! But these two were absolute champs!
Wagon Hill has so many great spots for photos. There are lots of flowers, woods and huge open fields that are gorgeous at sunset. It’s also a great spot for photos during the pandemic, as it is a huge area with very little people around.
Cassie and Britney warned me before we started that they were a little nervous, which is totally normal! I always tell people that unless you’re a professional model, it will feel a little awkward at first. But about five minutes into the session they were laughing and having these tiny, beautiful moments with each other like I wasn’t even there! I am so happy with how their photos came out and it was great practice for their wedding day.
Love Wins – Every Time
Unfortunately, COVID forced Cassie and Britney to reschedule their wedding to next summer. However we got to do this session on their original wedding date, which was a wonderful way to celebrate them. I can’t express how positive and upbeat these two are, despite their change in plans!
It just goes to show you that genuine love will never be canceled. In fact, I think the challenges they’ve had to face have made their relationship stronger. Their love and energy is so infectious and powerful, and I hope you see it through these photos!
